Your characterization of Madara is exactly 💯 why I struggled with writing Madara as a young man. Yomi's illustrations convey so much of his personality, though, which is what inspired this fic from the get-go--her gift with pose, expression and setting/milieu made this fic come alive! (You can see precisely which of Yomi's illustrations I drew inspiration from.)
